Wait, what? A write-in? Why is Lauren running as a write-in candidate?

Democrats were left without a candidate when the only Democrat running for the State Senate in Legislative District 8 dropped out. Writing in Lauren Kuby on the Primary Election ballot this July means her name will be printed on the General Election ballot in November -- and that Democrats will have an experienced, respected, and effective voice representing them in the State Senate. There’s so much on the line, including:

  • Climate Solutions

  • Access to Abortion & Healthcare

  • Workforce Protections

On your ballot, you must use a black or blue pen, fill-in the oval for a write-in candidate, AND write Lauren Kuby (first and last name are required).

A friend you can trust.

Lauren Kuby will fight for the things most important in Legislative District 8: climate solutions, abortion rights, public education, and worker protections.

A former two-term vice mayor and councilmember in Tempe, Lauren has been recognized as a national champion for climate action and for cities and local governments as incubators of innovation.

Legislative District 8 includes:
Mesa • Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community • Tempe • Phoenix • Scottsdale
